This five-lesson course is offered twice a year on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. The next set of lessons will begin on Thursday, September 16 and end on October 14.
This course provides a hands-on introduction to the game of duplicate bridge, including basic scoring, basic bidding, and basic play of the hand. The third and fourth lessons focus on no trump bidding, while the fifth lesson concentrates on weak two bids.
Beginners Part 2
This five-lesson course is offered twice a year on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm until 9:00 pm. The next set of lessons will begin on Thursday, November 11 and end on December 9.
Beginners 2 is a continuation of Beginners 1. All concepts are reviewed and reinforced. Bidding is emphasized, including take-out doubles and responses and ace-asking conventions. The principles of declaring no trump and suit contracts will be covered. The same text will be used for both beginner courses.
This one-day session is normally offered two or three times a year. The next workshop will be held on Saturday, September 11, and it will be offered online on the ZOOM platform.
You’ll nail the basics of bridge in this interactive class that has both instruction and coached play. If you’re just starting, returning to the game or wanting to “test the waters” before taking formal lessons, this workshop is for you.
In just five hours, students will become confident with basic bidding, scoring, and the mechanics of play. Included in your registration is a 35-page student manual which walks beginning students through the history, mechanics, scoring, beginning bidding, and theory of bridge. The handouts include seven practice exercises and four practice hands for the students.
Your instructor is someone who plays bridge regularly and is fully committed to helping you learn and enjoy your day. By the end of the workshop, you will have learned some of the basics of the game.
